Shut down by The Walking Dead lol

As you may know I live in Miami Beach, which is just across from Miami. First 48 is filmed here, and since they never have repeat episodes you can imagine what watching the news is like here.
I rarely watch the News. In my opinion it is full of scare tactics, and there is never anything good reported. The world is not 100% evil, but unfortunately bad things boost ratings.
Anytime I watch the news my desire grows to move up North and own at least 5 acres of land where I can grow my own food and be pretty much to myself.
Moving to Georgia has been a ongoing debate in our house for about 2 years now (Although Miami Beach is growing on me). So, I thought with the Ebola out breaks, and the recent shootings in Miami that it's a good time to bring it up again. I started with the facts: Crime rates, Property cost, Ability to grow our own organic food, and I ended with the Ebola scare, and how the CDC is in Atlanta so if it became a epidemic wouldn't he want to be close to a possible cure. My husband turns to me and smiles (I should have known this was not a good sign), and says "Yes, the CDC is in Atlanta, but that isn't necessarily a good thing. Don't forget what happen in The Walking Dead."
I had to laugh. Ok, he won this one lol.

What a week!

I have had such a busy week, and it's only Tuesday. The highlight of my week so far is Baby J. He was a custom order, and I am absolutely thrilled at how adorable he turned out. I will post some photos below. Hopefully later today or tomorrow I will have all his photos on my website under adopted babies. I have a number of babies in the works that I will be releasing soon. Until then, Be Blessed.

Work In Progress - Ethnic / AA Reborn Baby Boy

I have A.D.D. when it comes down to reborning sometimes.
I have about 9 kits that I have started on, and just when I said that's it I am going to work on these 3 and nothing else. I notice Riley sitting on the shelf, so I pick him up and start rooting his little head.
Here are a few Work In Progress photos

Cloud Nine

I am so excited today!!
I have been featured in the 3rd issue of QBonecas Magazine YAY!
Actually they have chosen to feature 4 of my babies in their classified section :)
If you love Reborn Dolls as much as I do,
you may want to order an issue

On another note, I know I have been slow to post weekly on my blog :(
I am preparing for the Down East Doll Show in June
There will be classes, and Reborn Babies :)

I am planning on bring a selection of reborn dolls,
I will not be posting the photos before the show because I want it to be a surprise. I have a number of long sold out kits, and many of which are accompanying me to the show. I hope to see you there.

Lastly, a sneak peek of Kaydence & Kayden
Fraternal Reborn Twins

Have a terrific week!!

Grace and Mercy

There is nothing like Grace, and Mercy. Today has been a long day. I have had an annoying headache all day, and I notice everytime I go to stand from a sitting position that it takes a bit longer (my back is bothering me today). Six months ago I was driving home on the interstate doing over 75mph when my tire blew out and cause my SUV to flip 3 times. Despite how I feel, I am sooooooooooo grateful. I am still here, I can still do all the things I love, and at the end of each day I can still give thanks. Grace & Mercy. Life is precious, despite your situation be thankful cause your still living.

Being abroad

I think the most difficult part of the year so far has been being abroad. Europe is lovely, but so different from the U.S. I knew before I made the decision to come to France that I would need to get my supplies  shipped if I was going to be here beyond a few weeks. Originally the plan was to come to France to get married, because my fiance and I were tired of being apart (For us to marry in the States we would have to be apart for 3-5 months while the visas are processed). Little did we know that getting married here is far more complicated and time consuming than we read online. The first town hall we went to the workers really were not knowledgeable on the process of a foreigner marrying a French citizen ugh. She was reading the same online info we read trying to find out what documents we needed, and when she didn't know she just said "You cant get married". Needless to say we went to another town hall where the stay was knowledgeable and nice. Unfortunately they don't give you all the info at once. We have been trying to wed since January and now we are waiting on what we hope will be the final document, then we can turn in our paperwork and wait an additional 6 weeks for a date. In the meantime I wanted to learn how to sculpt, and to finish some dolls I had been working on. The downside is custom fees are killer!! I ordered some baby clothes from JC Pennys when I arrived totaling $103 USD ($64USD for the items and the rest for shipping and handling), UPS charged me customs $49 euros when it arrived, and then sent a bill for an additional $41 euros. When we called to find out why they could not explain, they just said we had to pay or pay a fine.. SMH. Sounds like someone is stealing, custom fees are not suppose to be more than the item itself. I have emailed UPS, and I am waiting for a response. Reborning is challenging, and I adore it. But when your an artist there are a lot of hats that come with the job.. Photographer, Shopper, Accountant etc. Luckily I am going home with my fiance for a few weeks, so more babies coming soon.

Another Day

I have done a horrible job at blogging! It was suppose to be a everyday thing, but its barely a monthly occurrence. This month has been rough. I have been reborning less and less. My wedding was set for this month, but a series of events caused us to move our date. It's becoming more and more apparent that marrying someone who doesnt reside in the US is going to be more difficult that I originally planned. In the meantime I have pulled out a few kits, and I am going to emerge myself in painting. Pictures to come soon.

Just Breathe

First I would like to Thank all of my friends and customers that emailed me words of encouragement. So many people told me to just go for it.Well my decision may be a little less my own. As most of my friends know I have chronic asthma, I went to the Doctors yesterday only to find the steroids I took the night before had caused my blood pressure to sky rocketed (163/110). So I am home resting... missing days from work(Not good). I have been trying not to stress too much because I truly believe that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. Last night in my absence of sleep I managed to locate 45 blank bibs, 23 burp cloths, and over 23 shirts. As soon as I am feeling better I will add my embroidered products to my shop. I look forward to sharing them with you!

Thank you,
Fay
P.S.
I hope to introduce a beautiful baby boy by the end of the week.
